Amazon.com Perennially one of the WB's highest-rated series, Gilmore Girls hit its creative high point to date with its stellar fifth season, which started out with young Rory (Alexis Bledel) feeling the fallout of doing something terribly non-Rory-like: sleeping with Dean (Jared Padalecki), her married ex-boyfriend. Rory's indulgence in adultery put, for the first time, a serious, sharp wedge in her relationship with her mother, Lorelai (Lauren Graham), who was both shocked by her daughter's behavior and worried Rory would repeat the mistakes Lorelai made at her age. But while Rory jetted off to Europe with her grandmother (Kelly Bishop) for the summer, Lorelai finally got her relationship with diner owner Luke (Scott Patterson) into a serious groove, starting with an official (and incredibly sweet) first date and others that involved, if you can believe it, a Swedish Pippi Longstocking movie. And as Lorelai navigated romantic terrain in Stars Hollow (terrain that of course did not run smooth), Rory found life more complex in her second year at Yale, as her relationship with Dean became increasingly strained. Not only that, she found her attention turned towards preppy Logan (Matt Czurchy), a spoiled rich kid who represented everything Rory couldn't stand--and was of course immediately attracted to. Little did Rory know that Logan's entrance into her life, and her interaction with his family, would be the catalyst for one of the most momentous decisions she would ever make. With this season of Gilmore Girls, creative forces Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino finally found a way to make the Stars Hollow-Yale dichotomy work perfectly, as each location still stood alone but had decided repercussions on the other. Gone were freshman-year anxieties for Rory and in their place were more adult romantic concerns as well as a class consciousness that, for the first serious time, found Rory on the side of the haves and not the have-nots. While the Rory-Dean drama played itself out nicely and succinctly, it was the devilish Logan who lit a fire underneath this Gilmore girl; the episode "You Jump, I Jump, Jack" was a lovely twist on the '30s romantic comedies that found rich folk at play with words and deeds. Bledel started to fully blossom as Rory grew from ingenue to leading lady, and she was matched peerlessly by Graham, whose passion, anger, stubbornness, and ravishing beauty all came to a head in "Wedding Bell Blues," which featured her two greatest nemeses: her mother and Rory's dad, Christopher (David Sutcliffe). The show's trademark eccentricities were all in place--including a Pulp Fiction party and an elementary school production of Fiddler on the Roof, among other things--but it mined the best drama of its run with the season's last four episodes, which found Rory's confidence shaken to the core. To give any of the proceedings away would spoil the drama, but suffice it to say you will be glued to the TV for this season's final four hours; it's Gilmore Girls at its phenomenal best. --Mark Englehart

Gilmore Girls Season 7 DVD Purchase January 6, 2009 K. M. Rose (Colorado) Very fast delivery. Was in very good condition. All Dvd's were there and all played. Episode Guide was there but Gimoreism's booklet was missing.
GOOD CLEAN TV November 10, 2008 L. Carr (UKIAH, CA.) There is so much smut, violence and disrespect on tv that it was a wonderful discovery for me to find Gilmore Girls. I ordered from Amazon and received it in a timely fashion. Thanks to all.
Just gets better and better October 12, 2008 J. Galvin Except for the writers trying to morph Rory into a trollop in her casual beginnings with Logan and the fact that Rory is still something of a whiny, spoiled girl at times, the fifth season was another great one. I have truly missed this show since it went off-air. Since I was only able to purchase the first four seasons a year ago, FINALLY getting my hands on this season was a reminder of why it was such a tragedy that Amy Sherman-Palladino left after the sixth season and the show fizzled in the seventh season. Lots of fun and even more crazy only-the-Gilmores moments fill this season and make it worth watching again (and again).
love the gilmore girls! September 24, 2008 P. Patton (Ohio) My daughter introduced me to the Gilmore Girls and I fell in love! Watched all seven seasons in a 2 month time frame! The writing is witty and the show is contemporary and real. I doubt anyone could keep from watching once they start!
Gilmore Girls Rock August 30, 2008 P. Hayton (Carlisle,England) Heard good things about Gimore Girls and then found season one on sale at 13.99 so thought why not try it. Season one hooked me and I had to buy more. During my holiday at the end of July untill the second week of August I watched every episode of every season . It only took that long as I had to order two seasons from America. Season 5 carried on the legacy of season 4 I was not dissapointed with my purchase. Lorelai and luke , Rory and Yale , Gilmore Girls and Gilmore parents things moved on and I wanted to know where they were going each episode drew me into the next the banta was there as always and the fast talking . Still need to know how they can afford all that food and Luke never takes and money from them .
