 Chillow - great for "Hot Summer Nights" or "The Change" July 24, 2010

I have been using a Chillow for several years now. Yes, occasionally they wear out, so I've bought about six of them. But I also use two at a time!
Going through "The Change" and not having air conditioning can be a challenge. It is. Chillow helps me get through both circumstances. I leave my Chillows on the bathtub floor during the day. At night, I bring one to bed with me and keep the other in the tub as a backup. And we've had some hot nights here! Very seldom have I needed to use the second Chillow, but those hot nights with "power surges" can beat almost anything!
This is a GREAT value for the money . . . they have each lasted a couple years, and when I have two "active", I alternate which one I use each night.
Its definitely worth the money! Shop for the best price.

I was so excited when I first used by Chillow. I slept through the night without any night sweats. After continued use, it has lost it's effectiveness. It is still better than no Chillow at all.

The Chillow is nice and cool when I lay down but by 1 or 2 a.m it has reached body temp and may even feel warmer than a normal pillow. I sometimes switch pillows at that time.

Living in the Chihuahuan Desert and going through menopause is no fun at all. I now own two Chillows -- one regular and one plus -- and really like them. They don't stay as cool all night as I'd like, but then nothing would, and these are much, much better than an ice pack. I would suggest people think of them as a 'cooling pad' and not just a pillow. I lay on them, sit on them (I'm small, this might not be a good idea for someone heavy), put one over my shoulders, behind my back, across my lap, under my feet -- I've even made a hot-flash sandwich with one under me and one on top. Now I just wish they'd come up with lightweight chillow clothing!

It does work but lasts only an hour or two. I bought 2 to change out during the night. Refrigerating does extend the cool time. It does get warm and is slow to cool off. I would purchase again. Just know that 1 is not enough. Only down side is sleep is still disrupted. But is better than nothing.
