Product Description MULTI TOOL, SQUIRT S4, RED, CLAM
Amazon.com Product Description
The Squirt folds down to a tight, easy-to-transport 2-1/4 inches. | Leatherman's Squirt S4: Small but Mighty When it comes to convenience, it's tough to beat the Squirt S4. This multitool is ultra-compact, super tough, and it weighs just two ounces -- making it the perfect tool to pop into that backpack or slip into those slacks. And for such a tiny unit, the Squirt really packs a lot of tough, functional tools for any occasion. Take it on the road, stuff it into a pocket, throw it in the glove compartment, or take it camping. This little tool is ready to work or play. Most of the tools are accessible from the outside for ease of operation, and the anodized aluminum handles offer rugged yet lightweight protection for decades of use. Micro-serrations help the scissors grip and cut even fine materials, and other features -- tweezers, knife, screwdrivers and more -- are all available without opening the tool. And at a mere 2-1/4 inches, this zippy little number does a great job of staying out of the way until you need it. A handy lanyard attachment hooks easily to a loop on your backpack or key ring. Key User Features The central feature of the Squirt, the scissors, is accessed by rotating the handles open in a quick, easy butterfly maneuver, and the blades can be lifted out of the handle using the nail nicks. Just rotate the blades out until they're fully extended. The Squirt's blades are 100-percent high-grade stainless steel, and it can be cleaned, dried, and re-oiled periodically -- which is recommended, especially after it's used in a damp environment. The Squirt S4 also includes a 1-1/2-inch ruler. This is located on the back side of the nail file/cleaner, and it uses the tip of the blade as the zero point. Small enough to stash anywhere, the Squirt has removable tweezers (Glacier Blue model depicted; this listing is for the Inferno Red model). | Expand your Squirt's capabilities with genuine Leatherman accessories like the Squirt protective sheath. | Multitool Capabilities: - Scissors

Great little tool; bought it for the scissors October 7, 2008 Daniel Paul Long (Austin, TX USA) I used to carry a Victorinox Swiss Army Classic Pocket Knife, but it eventually fell apart. I've had a other pocket knives since then, but the thing I missed most from the Swiss knife was the scissors. This Leatherman has it and is the luxury version of that knife. My two complaints are that it is twice as bulky as the Swiss knife and the knife blade is shaped funny. Most pocket knives have a relatively straight sharp edge and a slightly curved back. This is the opposite. A few times, I have turned it the wrong way and even put my thumb against what I thought was the back but was actually the sharp edge. No injuries so far, but it does annoy me.
Use as keychain, indeed, so this is always with you August 27, 2008 Judge J Drhedd I owned a PST II (stolen!), and now Supertool 2000, Blast, Wave, Micra, and this Squirt. Wave stays in the car, Supertool 2000 with my father, Blast at my apartment (or when travelling), Micra serves as my girlfriend's keychain, and this squirt as my keychain. I just replaced the small maglite which drains its battery too fast.
Now, this arrangement makes this squirt the most used of my leathermans. There's always a paper, string, or cloth to cut and feels great when youre the one who produces the tool quickly to do it.
Nail file is also quite usable, and the bottle opener does what it's supposed to do. (could leatherman have tried to include the can opener sharpness?)
Buy one and use as a keychain. It will pay for itself. Very handy.
OK, but the plier version appears better build August 23, 2008 Microman (Seattle, WA USA) I have a P4 version of this which I LOVE but found that I was looking for more cutting and the fold out scissors were not as convenient as having the main tool be a scissor so I purchased the S4. The main difference I see and that I read in other reviews but didn't believe is that the build quality is a bit poorer. My P4 snaps closed and is a really well manufactured whereas the S4 springs about 1/2 way closed and I have to manually close the rest. Not usually a big deal and the rest of the knife works well, just annoying. I still use this on my keychain and the rest of the tool works great. Remember that this isn't a locking blade which is OK for a tool this small. I use this daily.
incredibly useful tool, almost perfect, truly pocket sized too August 15, 2008 Elizabeth A Triano (In Transition, NY (watch this space)) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had a Squirt for a number of years and I just love it. Originally I got it mostly to cut beading wire with -- coated multi-strand stuff like SoftFlex and Beadalon that I didn't like using my scissors on. It does a good job of that, but it is good for so much more! That little blade is a staple of our everyday life; the kids are always asking to use it for a minute, and with its bright red color it's a little harder to lose than some things. I also use the curved nail cleaner/ruler a lot to open boxes, as a safer way to rip tape than with a sharp blade.
I'm not crazy about the actual knife, it seems a bit small and tends to close, to me it is more a hazard than otherwise, but I don't need it much. What I do wish it had was a true awl. It does have a small screwdriver, but for picking apart tight knots (as in shoelaces, doll's necks, necklaces, packages, and so on) one really needs the point of an awl, not the cutting blade of even a small screwdriver.
But almost for the sturdy scissors alone, this pocket tool is worth its weight in gold. I wish it came with a little card that said how to mail it in for sharpening though.
And I wish it had an awl.
But I'm glad I have it!
Thanks for reading. Hope this helped.
Squirt s4 versus Swiss Classic pocket Knife August 6, 2008 C. Lu 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is from personal experience with these two products. I will discuss their pros and cons. I have the swiss for several years and recently got the squirt s4 after reading all the good comments about it. First of all the main reason I wanted squirt was because it has a much stronger scissors and able to cut plastic packaging etc plus the bottle opener. They are the main reason. I had the swiss army knife in my key chain as an all purpose manicure and small knife usage that I carry every time I'm out and about. I must say the squirt quality is very good. Both the scissors and knife are beefier in quality. It's more multipurpose. The swiss knife is very good for manicure. It has slender blade so it can cut those side nails easier while the squirt is a little larger and less easy to cut small splinter nails on the side. Squirt is also heavier so you will feel the weight if not the size in your pocket compare to swiss. Putting in the keychain may be a problem because it seems too heavy with keys and car keys etc. You will feel the weight in the pocket. So the main tools on squirt are all better than swiss, however the swiss has edge in slender scissors blade for fine cut and noticeably lighter.
