Definitely NOT a PDA. January 1, 2009 froofielady (SF bay area, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have my own PDA and bought this for my daughter who is 12. She and some of her friends are BIG Hello Kitty (as well as other character) fans. I'm even a fan! If they had HK themes for my PDA, I'd go for it! Unfortunately, this "game" has no age recommendations (at least not that I could see). First of all, it ISN"T a GAME. I suppose the "bedroom" scene (instead of an office - or even a desk) should have been a clue. Second, the program is VERY limited and nearly un-animated. The school schedule is extremely limited and does not let you add a meeting time for each "class". The only info for friends is name, nickname, birthday, blood type (?!), and phone number. The alarm clock is VERY basic. The budget is simple, but can be confusing. The calculator is simplistic, but is probably the best work in this program (that should tell you A LOT!). All in all, this program may be well-intended, but needs much more thought put into it. Think about it, there are MANY adult women (high school, college, Moms, etc) that would utilize this instead of purchasing a PDA if the program was detailed and less childish (yes, many of us also have DS's). Honestly, I don't think girls who are the age that this was evidently designed for (8 to 10 year olds) are really are interested in "managing their busy life and staying organized in style" - and that's quoted right off of the DS gamebox! While on the other hand, many adult women would love to! Bottom line, I can't think of ANY girl that I would give this to that would really use it! My daughter said that the bedroom looked like a little kids playroom. She said that her phone had more options and wasn't so "little kidish". Since opened games are not returnable, this was $30 "out the window" for me - one more lesson learned!
